Temper Tamers:
An Eight-Session Anger Management Pull-Out Program
by Kathryn Pearson, M.S.
More and more children struggle to manage their anger at
school—and many fail. As a licensed psychologist, Kathryn
Pearson knows this firsthand. In TEMPER TAMERS, she presents a
step-by-step program for teaching children effective
anger-management strategies. Designed for small-group settings
(6–8 kids), eight structured sessions are built around
“point-of-view” stories about real-life situations. Children
learn to identify their emotions so they recognize anger when
they feel it. Then they practice specific techniques
(“breathing,” “stop and think”) that help them deal with their
anger without hurting others or destroying things.
Each session takes from 30–45
minutes.
