Bay City Kids:
A Value-Based Program
Bay City Kids uses a strong value-based presentation with an authoritative
guidance technique to educate teens about human sexuality. Participatory in both design
and content, this two-video series teaches four critical behavior indicators: Respect.
Responsibility. Restraint. Risk Knowledge. Contains many scenarios that act as triggers
for discussion, and ends on a point that demands emotional involvement and further
reflection by each student. This innovative, dramatic series meets restrictive state
legislation governing health education. Some topics include: Talking to parents. Learning
assertive communication skills to say "No". Peer pressure and consequences of
growing up male of female. Teen pregnancy ricks, dilemmas and realities for both male and
